Fund Census
Public SEC filings on investment advisers and the funds they run, connected into one graph. Every SEC-registered and exempt reporting adviser from Form ADV, with its private funds, owners, executives and fund service providers, plus Form D fundraising, Form 13F holdings, Schedule 13D/13G stakes, Forms 4 and 5 insider transactions, Form N-CEN registered-fund operations and Form N-PORT registered-fund holdings. Search, screen, rank, compare and trace connections on the website, through an MCP server or through a JSON API. Read-only public data, not investment advice.
Data and coverage
- Form ADV: every SEC-registered and exempt reporting adviser, from SEC bulk files since November 2011 and monthly IAPD files. Includes regulatory assets, clients, services and compensation, owners and executives (Schedules A and B), private funds with gross asset value and type (Schedule D 7.B.1), and each fund's auditor, prime broker, custodian, administrator and marketer.
- Form D and D/A: fundraising history for private funds, joined only by the exact Form ADV file number. Master-feeder structures are excluded.
- Form 13F: every eligible reported position for advisers matched by exact CIK, for the two most recent report quarters. Reported 13F value covers selected securities, not total assets under management.
- Schedules 13D and 13G: the latest reported 5%+ stake per reporting person and issuer, from structured filings since December 18, 2024. Links require the reporting person's CIK inside the filing XML; filings without it stay unlinked.
- Forms 4 and 5: insider transactions from filings that name an adviser as a reporting owner, alone or jointly, linked only when the filed reporting-owner CIK equals the adviser's Form ADV CIK. Filings are discovered through the latest four quarterly SEC insider transactions data sets, and values come from each original filing as filed. Form 3 initial holdings are not included.
- Form N-CEN: annual registered-fund operations (brokerage commissions, securities lending, credit facilities, expense limits) for every fund series that filed Form N-CEN in about the last two years, from SEC quarterly data sets and original filings. Up to two annual reports per series. Funds without an SEC series ID, mostly closed-end funds, are not yet included.
- Form N-PORT: portfolio holdings of registered funds (mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end and interval funds) from the SEC's latest quarterly data set. Only each fund's report for the third month of its fiscal quarter is public, about 60 days after the report date, so these are quarterly snapshots valued at market in US dollars, not current or monthly holdings. Fund managers link only where the fund's Form N-CEN names the adviser's exact CRD and SEC number and the adviser's Form ADV reports the fund.
- Form ADV Part 2 brochures: section references and fee excerpts for a limited set of advisers.
Every fact links to its source filing. Records are linked across filings only by exact identifiers; when identity is uncertain, the name stays unlinked text. The current filing cutoff is in /api/meta.
Not covered: Form PF (confidential by law), private-fund portfolio holdings, money market fund holdings (Form N-MFP), non-public monthly N-PORT reports, Form 3 initial holdings, and Forms 4 and 5 filed only by people or by entities without an exactly matching adviser CIK.

Ids
Advisers use their SEC CRD number (for example 160489), private funds their 805- fund id (for example 805-6352391119), people their individual CRD number or a slug when the filing has none, and providers a slug (for example goldman-sachs). Search turns any name into an id.
